OPPORTUNITY
UTS Systems, LLC is currently seeking applicants for a Director of Programs, work location is negotiable, with reporting functions tied to our Fairfield, VA facility. This position will report directly to the VP of Programs. The Company maintains four facilities: one in Fairfield, VA, two in Fort Walton Beach, FL, and one in Massillon, Ohio.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Plan, execute, and oversee proposal efforts for assigned projects within the program portfolio
Assemble and manage cross-functional teams to accomplish program goals within cost, schedule, and performance metrics
Keep clients and internal stakeholders informed about program status, challenges, and solutions
Manage program progress and resource allocation, track budgets, and adapt program completion as required
Prepare and report on program progress by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data
Represent the company, manage, and execute all aspects of defense contracts
Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies
Manage research and development efforts related to existing and/or new products associated with program/project completion
Travel to execute program goals
Extended working hours may be required as dictated by management and business needs
Administrative Associate (Fairfield, VA)
Job Overview
The Administrative Associate plays a key role in supporting a variety of business administration activities, with a primary focus on human resources and Executive Assistant to the CFO. This is a hands-on position responsible for assisting with recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training and employee relations. Additionally, the role supports payroll processes, workforce planning, and benefits administration.
Duties
Provide administrative support to the Human Resources Manager across a wide range of HR functions and to the CFO.
Communicate and reinforce company policies and procedures to employees.
Organize, maintain, and update personnel files and HR databases.
Actively support the recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and employee evaluation processes.
Coordinate with external staffing agencies to fulfill production staffing needs.
Develop employee training materials, coordinate training sessions, and maintain training records.
Perform other HR-related duties as assigned.
Production, Senior Manager
Fairfield/Waynesboro
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Senior Production Manager (Virginia) is responsible for driving operational performance across both Virginia manufacturing sites. This role leads production, warehousing, fulfillment, and maintenance functions to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality output while continuously improving throughput, cost performance, and delivery reliability.
This position provides direct leadership to the Production Managers, Shipping and Receiving Managers, and Maintenance Managers at each facility, ensuring teams are aligned, accountable, and focused on measurable results.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership & Performance
Lead daily production, integration, warehousing, and fulfillment activities across two facilities to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and output targets
Hold site leaders accountable for performance metrics, operational discipline, and execution against production schedules
Drive alignment between facilities and departments (Quality, Planning, R&D, Procurement, HR, and others) to eliminate delays and improve operational flow
Foster a high-performance culture focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement
Process & Productivity Improvement
Improve manufacturing efficiency by optimizing production lines, workflows, and material flow
Apply both Kaizen (continuous improvement) and Six Sigma principles to improve process efficiency, quality, and repeatability in manufacturing and operational environments.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives that increase throughput, reduce waste, and improve labor and equipment utilization
Identify and eliminate production bottlenecks, process inefficiencies, and workflow gaps
Standardize processes and implement documented best practices across both facilities
Workforce Performance & Development
Lead workforce planning to ensure staffing levels and skills align with production demands and growth objectives
Develop strong site leadership by coaching managers to independently lead their functional areas
Establish clear performance expectations and accountability across both sites
Operational Systems & Metrics
Ensure effective use of the company’s ERP system to maintain accurate production, inventory, and fulfillment data
Monitor labor performance, overtime, and productivity to ensure efficient use of resources
Track, analyze, and act on key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive measurable operational improvement
Facility & Equipment Reliability
Ensure equipment uptime and facility readiness through proactive maintenance planning and execution
Maintain operational compliance with company standards and defense industry requirements
Quality & Compliance
In collaboration with the Quality Manager, ensure operations support the company’s Quality Management System and maintain compliance with ISO 9001 standards
Reinforce process discipline, corrective action execution, and continuous improvement initiatives across both sites
Production- Production Assembler (Waynesboro, VA)
The Production Assembler will be part of a team responsible for manufacturing and assembling frame components for our shelter systems, as well as the kitting and packaging of finished goods. This includes the following responsibilities:
Assemble products and components based on detailed instructions, diagrams, or blueprints.
Operate various hand tools, power tools, and assembly machines to complete product assemblies.
Ensure all parts and materials are available to complete tasks and maintain stock levels.
Inspect assembled products to ensure quality and functionality meet company standards.
Perform quality checks throughout the assembly process and report any defects or issues.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety and cleanliness protocols.
Adhere to production schedules and meet daily or weekly output goals.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production targets.
Package finished products for shipment or storage.
Troubleshoot and resolve minor mechanical issues on the assembly line.
Follow all safety guidelines and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Other duties as assigned by management.
